Information
Since 1 January, 2026, stalking has been a criminal offence in Switzerland.
Stalking means that a person repeatedly harasses, follows or threatens you, even though you do not want any contact.
- Do you constantly receive messages or calls from the same person – even at night or at unusual times?
- Does the person show up unexpectedly and unwanted at your place?
- Do you feel like you are being watched or followed?
- Is someone threatening to publish or share photos or videos of you?
- Do you receive unwanted gifts?
- Have you clearly said that you do not want any contact – and it continues anyway?
If you answer “yes” to several of these questions, it may be stalking.
