We would be delighted to advise you personally by telephone or in writing. Our information is free, anonymous and confidential. We offer advice in German, English, French, Italian, Spanish and Polish. If necessary, we work with an interpreter and if needed we can refer you to other facilities with specialised people.

Do you want to learn German?
We offer free German courses. Here you can learn words and expressions that will be useful in your day-today dealings with customers and employers, here in Basel.
You can join the course at any time.
Are you feeling ill?
Are you in pain? Are you following a treatment and missing any prescribed medication during your stay in Basel?
Do you want to be screened for HIV or sexually transmitted diseases?
Are you pregnant or thinking about a possible pregnancy?
Do you feel depressed or suffer from nervousness or anxiety? Are you tense?
We have no problem recommending a doctor or accompanying you. You will be able to have a check-up and, if necessary, prescriptions. If you do not have health insurance in Switzerland, we will find a solution.
Would you like to learn about safety and protection strategies?
- Would you like to learn how to set limits with confidence and defend yourself physically in violent situations ? So do not hesitate to join our self-defence class on March 6, 2024, from 1-2 pm.
- Are you interested in security strategies which you can put into practice during your working life ? Would you like an experienced sex worker to show you how to protect yourself in critical situations?
So come along to Edina’s workshop on June …. 2024, from 1-2 pm. - Would you like to find out how to make an emergency call and what happens when you make an emergency call? Would you like to know more about your rights as a victim of violence ? So come along to the Basel police training course on May 15, 2024 from 1-2 pm.
If necessary we can translate or organise a translation.

Meeting point at lunchtime
Would you like to meet new people ? Get to know Aliena better? Or just enjoy a little break? Every Wednesday, we serve a freshly prepared lunch.
Every 14 days, during lunchtime we give you the opportunity to enjoy a body massage, given by a professional.
Once a month, employees from Rahab (Salvation Army) and SiTa (catholic church) offer you the possibility to free your heart from your sorrows, confide, pray and do a creative activity.

Do you need a little break ?
You are welcome to dropo in during the association’s opening hours and relax over a cup of tea, coffee or soft drink, in a relaxed atmosphere. If you have a question, you can discuss it with us or arrange a meeting.
Should you pick up your registration confirmation or residence permit at Aliena?
Presence Office for Economy and Labor (registration confirmation) at Aliena: Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 9.00 a.m. to 12.00 p.m.
Presence Migration Office (residence permit) at Aliena: Thursday from 9.00 to 11.00 a.m.
We are happy to be there for you during these times. We will inform you about your rights and obligations, introduce you to the services offered by Aliena and provide you with contact addresses in Basel, such as emergency telephone numbers for social and medical contact points. If you have any questions or need support, we can discuss this directly or arrange an appointment.
Do you need a place to retire and relax?
During the opening hours of our association you can relax and unwind in a cosy lounge.
